Brick Villa Re-Roof
Tile-to-Colorbond conversion in West Wollongong.
Residential · Metal
Project Overview
Working with the builder of this new Shellharbour villa, we installed concealed-fix metal roofing across low-pitch skillion slopes — the crisp standing-seam look the architect drew, with none of the visible screws that spoil it.
Box gutters, custom flashings and acoustic insulation were all detailed in-house from our own site measures, then folded and fitted by our sheet-metal team.
Challenge & Approach
Skillion slopes under five degrees leave no margin for error — laps, sealants and gutter falls must be exact or wind-driven rain finds a way in. We set out every sheet from laser levels, not string lines.
Our approach: full-length sheets with no end laps, side laps sealed to spec, custom-folded box gutters with overflows sized for 1-in-100-year bursts, and acoustic insulation so rain on metal stays a whisper indoors.
Outcome
Finished a day ahead of program with zero defects at the builder's independent inspection — now our go-to showcase for architectural metal.
