Brick Villa Re-Roof
Tile-to-Colorbond conversion in West Wollongong.
Residential · Shingle
Project Overview
This Dapto family home had original shingles curling at every edge, with granule loss blocking the gutters. Rather than patch year after year, the owners chose a full architectural-shingle replacement.
We stripped to the deck, laid synthetic underlay, installed new architectural shingles with upgraded ridge ventilation, and left the gardens cleaner than we found them.
Challenge & Approach
A previous owner had laid new shingles straight over the old ones, doubling the weight and hiding soft decking around the chimney and skylight. We stripped both layers back to timber.
Our approach: replace damaged deck sheets, ice-and-water shield in valleys and penetrations, full synthetic underlay, then architectural shingles with a high-wind nailing pattern and a vented ridge.
Outcome
Neighbours stopped to ask who did the work before the scaffolding was even down — the dimensional shingles gave the whole street a lift.
